Is it necessary for a small business to have a group health insurance for their employees?

This is more of an ethical question than a legal one, because legally small businesses are not legally required to have a group health insurance package for their employees. However, it might still be in the best interest of the company to have one, regardless of how you feel about saving money for your company’s bottom line by not having a package for your employees.

Since work place health insurance coverage is seen more as an entitlement these day by employees, not having one could affect your chances of recruiting the best employees to work for your company. Once provided with work place health insurance, most employees feel more confident working for the company which can only help improve moral and increase productivity in the long run.

I would recommend that you do some more research and speak to other small business owners in your field, to find out more about their experiences on this topic to help you decide.
